About Me
Hello, I'm Lizzie, the founder of Tartan Tree Yoga.
Yoga has been part of my life for over 20 years, and it has supported me through many different chapters, from demanding periods in my career in finance to the joys and challenges of motherhood. For me, yoga has always been more than physical movement. It has provided a way to manage stress and reconnect with myself, and it is this experience that inspires me to share yoga with others.
In 2016, I travelled to Rishikesh in India, to deepen my own practice and become a Yoga Teacher. I completed my RYT 200 qualification with Yoga Alliance. I studied Hatha and Vinyasa yoga with an Iyengar-inspired approach. Since qualifying I have taught 1-to-1 clients, as well as group classes online. I particularly enjoy creating practices that are tailored to the individual and helping them discover the benefits of yoga.
Becoming a Mum in 2019 brought a new dimension to my yoga journey. My daughter and I love practising together, and I have discovered how much children respond to yoga when it is made playful and imaginative. I have also seen how naturally children connect with the outdoors, and how time spent in nature can encourage calm and curiosity.
In 2026, I studied to become a Children’s Yoga Teacher, and completed my RCYT 95 qualification, with the aim of creating engaging yoga experiences for children and their families. My approach combines the benefits of yoga and mindfulness with imagination and a love of nature.
